New director of special education approved in Foxboro

The School Committee of the Foxboro Public Schools recently announced that it has approved the appointment of Dr. Sandra Einsel as the new director of special education. No doubt the school district will be using flyer printing to let parents and residents of the town become aware of the appointment.

According to Debra Spinellu, Superintendent of Foxboro Public Schools, Einsel is a highly qualified candidate with a great deal of experience in all areas of education – particularly student services. She has the skills that will enable her to play a leading role in connecting special education with regular education, Spinellu says.

Since July 2009, Einsel has been the director of student service for the Holliston Public Schools. Prior to that, she was the director of pupil services and the out-of-district coordinator in the Walpole Public Schools for 14 years.

After accepting the position, Einsel said:

“Even though this is a middle of the year position I didn’t feel like I could pass it up. Your leadership team is well known in this area and it’s an extraordinary team I would like to be apart [sic] of.”

Einsel has a bachelor’s degree from Trinity University of San Antonio, Texas. She attended Boston College for her master’s degree in education, master’s in psychology and counseling education, and doctorates in special education and higher education. While working on her doctoral degrees, Einsel was the clinical supervisor of student teachers at Boston College and spent time its campus school as a teacher, supervisor of student teachers, and assistant principal.
