Foxboro Founders Day celebrates milestone year
June 6, 2013 by Sarah
The 25th anniversary of the Foxboro Founders Day will be held this weekend, with the theme of ‘Celebrating Foxboro Founders Day 25th Anniversary’ having been announced by the Founders Day Planning Committee to celebrate the event.
No doubt banner printing is being used by the Committee to spread the word throughout the town so that the community can enjoy the food, fun, and fellowship while rejoicing in the civic pride of the town.
Organizations and businesses in the town are encouraged to participate in a parade and build upon the theme. Various field activities and festivities will follow the parade and civic and religious organizations in the town are also encouraged to participate so as to raise money for their groups by running games or raffles and selling food, novelties, and other products.
One featured event will be demonstrations from the Fire Department and another at Booth Field will be the helicopter known as ‘Freedom’s Flying Museum’. A doll carriage parade will be held in the early afternoon. There will also be two live bands playing throughout the day – The Galley Dawgs and Twenty Past Two – and the day will be culminated with a fireworks presentation by Atlas Pro.
According to the Planning Committee, the event is entirely run by volunteers and those that are not able to volunteer their time can help defray expenses of the fireworks and other events by making a contribution to the Founders Day fund. The celebration takes place this Saturday, June 8, with the parade starting at 10:00 am.
