New service for Cambridge business

February 5, 2012 by

A major office supply retailer will open a new electronic service depot in Cambridge’s Kendall Square.

Known by most of the world for hard goods in the office supply realm, Staples will open a revolutionary new E-Commerce Innovation Centre by May 2012 to serve Cambridge customers who conduct all or a portion of their business online. The Innovation Centre will put teams of experts in the field of designing and Internet marketing at the disposal of their customers. The centre is another step in the office supply giant’s drive to maximize the way in which they deliver customer service using a variety of virtual channels.

“Cambridge is a hub of innovation, with both world-class universities and technology companies,” said Staples vice-president in charge of business development and e-commerce, Brian Tilzer. “Staples new E-Commerce Innovation Center will become the home to some of the world’s best e-commerce talent with the goal of rapidly bringing breakthrough new ideas to market in emerging online technologies like mobile commerce and social media.”

With the spring open date around the corner, potential employment candidates in the Cambridge area are encouraged to apply online by accessing Staples’s career page to check the latest postings. Those with prior experience in e-commerce and IT are the most in-demand positions for the Cambridge location. Graphic designers with experience in print services would be eligible to apply.

The Staples chain is second in line to the largest e-commerce firm on the planet. The Cambridge Innovation Centre is just part of their investment into the multi-platform delivery of customer service via desktops, mobile devices and retail outlets.
