March 11, 2013 by James
Microsoft’s New England Research and Development Center, affectionately known as ‘NERD’, is a crucial segment of a permanent strategic venture, and it will host another enjoyable evening of self-tracking demonstrations, sharing thoughts and ideas, and showing tools later this month.
Those who partake in self-tracking in any capacity— whether it is health statistics, biofeedback, online presence and reputation, life charting, mood monitoring, athletics or biometrics – are invited and encouraged to join the NERD group and share techniques, outcomes and insights. This event will begin at 6:00 pm and end at 9:00 pm, and will be held at 1 Memorial Drive in Cambridge. A $5 donation is requested.
Taking place March 25, the itinerary begins 6:00pm to 7:00pm with ‘Demo-Hour–Relax & Socialize’. Self-tracking tool innovators are welcome to attend and demonstrate their devices, web services, software applications, projects, and ideas, while sharing them with like-minded people in the ‘Grown-ups Science Fair’.
The following hour will be for those who wish to discuss personal self-tracking experiences, They should alert NERD via RSVP in order to allot presenters the proper amount of time. During the discourse in the ‘Quantified Self, Show and Tell’, they should address what they needed to accomplish, how they did it, and what they learned.
The 8:00 pm – 9:00 pm slot will allow people to engage with the presenters, converse with friends new and old, exchange digital business cards , compare notes, and have some fun.
Registration can be carried out online at the Microsoft Cambridge website.
