An Andover parent organization will present a lecture by Edward M Hallowell, to shed light on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) as it pertains to the business of today’s family.

Parent to Parent, a non-profit ad hoc group of parents, will present ‘The Distracted Family: Overstretched, Overbooked and About to Snap’, with Hallowell being a psychiatrist and noted authority on ADHD.

The 90-minute lecture will take place at the West Middle School beginning at 7:30 pm on Wednesday, November 13. Presentations such as this can easily be advertised through poster printing and hanging them on school bulletin boards or flyer printing with distribution to parents through local schools.

Hallowell will speak on managing busy household schedules and the overscheduling of children.
Hallowell’s education includes Harvard College and Tulane School of Medicine. He was also on staff at Harvard Medical School for nearly 20 years. His specialty is ADHD, coping with hectic families, the roots of happiness and many issues that affect families.

Jennifer DelMonaco, an Andover Parent to Parent group spokeswoman, said:

“His approachable style combines his expertise as a Harvard Medical School instructor with his uncanny understanding of human nature. He has been prominently featured in the media, including Dr. Oz, Oprah, 20/20, 60 Minutes, CNN, The Today Show, Good Morning America and The New York Times, Time Magazine, and the Harvard Business Review.”

The presentation is free to the public. Parent to Parent has information on the lecture posted on its website.
