Social media workshop gets August underway

July 26, 2012 by

With both computer classes and a social media workshop taking place, Stamford businesspeople are getting at least a couple of chances to develop their professional skills.

As a starting point, residents have the option of attending Computer Classes today, July 26, at the Ferguson Library. Scheduled to begin at 11:00 am and then again at 2:00 pm, this session is one that has a lot of professional applications. According to online advertisements, the subject matter is expected to cover Microsoft Word 2010, the fundamentals of email, and using Microsoft Excel 2010 for naming worksheets, handling data, and writing formulae. With sections also devoted to the Internet, specifically Twitter, this workshop is ideal for individuals who are just getting the hang of their computers and excellent for professionals who would like to take a ‘ground up’ approach to using technology.

Tying in quite nicely with the Twitter portion of the Computer Classes, SCORE Westchester will be hosting ‘Social Media Marketing Made Simple’ on August 1 in White Plains. As most business owners are already well aware, digital business cards and platforms like Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook can be a very potent combination from a marketing standpoint. Beginning at 1:00 pm, this workshop will help local professionals sort out the ins and outs of using social media.

Covering a number of subjects, including the practical aspects of using social media, keeping track of the results, maximizing platforms, attracting new clients, generating exposure, and attracting new business, this free workshop is going to be packed with informative content from start to finish.
