Success for Stonington brewery

Beer’d Brewing Co., a brewery created from the imagination of accountant and beer fanatic Aaren Simoncini, has been a surprising and thirst-quenching success from the get-go, and this month it was revealed that Simoncini has broken even after just two months of his venture.
“It’s just been wonderful. Way better than where I thought we’d be. We couldn’t be happier with the way it’s been received.”
Simoncini and his girlfriend Precious Putnam started small when it came to the brewery and spent conservatively, as both were still in the process of paying off student loans. Last year, they started brewing on a small scale, creating around 150 barrels to start. Jokingly, Simoncini said:
“Anheuser-Busch spills more than that in an hour…our game plan is to upsize as we go along. The more people that come in, the more beer we will offer.”
Simoncini’s passion for beer started as a home brewing hobby he developed in 2008, which led him to volunteer at Pawcatuck’s Cottrell Brewing Co. His experience at Cottrell taught him valuable industry skills, encouraging him to start his own “nanobrewery” in a space of 2,100 square feet.
While Simoncini markets the brewery on Facebook, Twitter, and other social media, he might consider using printing companies, flyers, and banner printing to further promote his business. Visitors from surrounding areas like Norwich, Groton, New London, and Waterford are sure to find it worth the trek to visit Beer’d Brewing Co. for a delicious tasting.
