Upcoming showcase encourages people to shop local

The Newport County Chamber of Commerce is presenting Expo 2014 this March. This annual event showcases local member-owned businesses.
More than 125 companies are expected to participate in this show, which is aimed at encouraging people to shop locally. One thing that separates this from other events of its type is the Shop Local marketplace, which will allow businesses to sell directly to the public.
In addition to the showcases, there will also be live entertainment, food and wine tastings, and door prizes, which will have been donated by participating companies.
Booths can be rented for $425 for a full one or $225 for a half or shared one. It should be a good investment for those companies who want to grow their local customer base. It will also be a chance for local businesses to network with one another.
Companies will come from all over Newport County, including nearby Middletown, to participate in this annual showcase. Many may decide to invest in flyer printing services so that they can inform their current customers about the event. The flyers can then be inserted in any upcoming company mailings.
Expo 2014 is taking place at the Hyatt Regency Newport Hotel and Spa on March 18 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm. Admission is $3, or free to Newport County Chamber of Commerce members. To learn more about the event, call 401-847-1608.
