Middletown looks to help horses

Horse lovers from Middletown and the surrounding areas may wish to dust off their dancing boots and come to an evening of fun that will help draft horses in need of new and loving homes.

The Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue has issued an invitation to all to attend its 2017 Dancin’, Diamonds and Drafts dinner and dance. An expansive dinner buffet will be served, and in addition to this, there will be both live and silent auctions where guests can bid on an assortment of items, and there will also be raffles throughout the night. A cash bar will be set up, and there will be music to dance to as well. A company that supplies ad specialties can design customized pieces that a sponsor can donate to be used as an auction item or raffle prize.

The event is being held in support of Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue to help it in its efforts to rehome horses throughout the state. It operates on a not for profit basis, and is run by volunteers.

The festivities will take place on April 1st in Saint Clements Castle, which is located at 1931 Portland Cobalt Road in Portland. Tickets are $60.00 each, and they, along with more information about the event and its organizer can be obtained by visiting Connecticut Draft Horse Rescue’s webpage.
