Fun the theme for the weekend
June 26, 2013 by James
Anthony is the son of an Italian immigrant and a Brooklyn native, which has given him much fodder for his comedy act, especially with the help of his five older sisters.
Additional show times are 8:00 pm and 10:30 pm on Saturday, June 29.
On the subject of children, there will be a Kids Cruise at 10:00 am, also this Saturday, at the River Quest Eagle Landing State Park in Haddam. The cruise will instruct children on the use of binoculars, nautical terms, water birds, and river ecology.
The cruise will last approximately one hour and will include views of the Chester/Hadlyme Ferry, the Gillette Castle and a journey under the East Haddam Swing Bridge, where kids can listen as the cars drive overhead.
If that is not enough fun, the Elm City Girls’ Choir will present its 20th anniversary concert at 4:00 pm on Saturday at the Fair Haven School, 164 Grand Avenue, New Haven.
More than 300 girls and women aged from 6 to 35 will perform a rehash of the group’s favorite hits of the past 20 years. The group includes alumnae members participating in the Saecula Women’s Choir.
Music includes all types from classical choral to folk songs. Tickets are $15 – $35. For more information call (203) 787-1244. Postcard printing is a great way to let residents know of upcoming events like these.
