Greenwich food fans will be able to enjoy a celebration of food this month, as the third annual Restaurant Week gets underway.

The J House is to host an Opening Night Cocktail Party this Thursday, November 10, to start off the event, which will include an appearance by celebrity chef Geoffrey Zakarian. Famous as a television personality and restaurateur, Zakarian has appeared in several cooking shows including The Kitchen, Chopped, and Iron Chef.

There will be the opportunity to sample a variety of cocktails and tasty food. Music and entertainment will be provided by DJ Kunjan Collective and Mercedes-Benz will be offering a weekend in a new model Mercedes as a raffle prize. Tickets for the opening night must be bought in advance and a share of the ticket sales will be going to a local nonprofit, the Transport Association of Greenwich, which provides transport solutions for the elderly and disadvantaged.

With over 30 local restaurants taking part in Restaurant Week, a range of special offers are available, with many of the prices ending in $.16 to signify the current year. Many restaurants are offering fixed-price menus, wine flights, and a range of signature dishes and promotional products. Reservations are recommended at popular restaurants as organisers are expecting demand to be high.

The event starts this Friday, November 10 and will run for 10 days.
