Fairfield braces itself for egg-citement

April 4, 2014 by

Spring is in the air, and that means it’s time for Fairfield children to gear up for a visit from the Easter bunny. Parents are invited to bring their little ones to the Connecticut Audubon Society’s 18th annual Easter Egg Hunt. This egg-stravaganza will be held in just a couple of weeks.

In addition to the morning hunt, all guests will be served a continental breakfast. Participants in the afternoon hunt will receive healthy snacks, juice, and cookies. The Easter Bunny will be making a guest appearance at both sessions.

Children will also be able to make and take home crafts, which will have spring themes. Parents will want to remember to bring cameras to capture those special moments for later postcard printing for relatives, as well as baskets for all the goodies. Proceeds will benefit the Audubon Society’s environmental education programs, which are designed for school children K-12, adults, and families. Easter egg hunters and parents must pre-pay and pre-register, although children under the age of two are free, but all kids need to be accompanied by an adult.

The Easter Bunny will be hopping down the bunny trail at the Connecticut Audubon Society Center on Saturday, April 12. The first hunt will begin at 10:00 am and will run until 11:30 am. The second will start at 1:00 pm and go to 2:30 pm at 2325 Burr Street in Fairfield.
