United Way powers forward with yearly luncheon

The 2013 Power of the Purse Luncheon will be held by United Way of Central and Northwestern Connecticut’s Women’s Leadership Council in early June and will directly benefit the Council’s initiative to support financial stability in families.

United Way is known for its support of positive change in communities around Connecticut through education, health, income, and safety net teachings, and the organization partners with many local businesses. Utilizing the help of members and volunteers, United Way prides itself on a hands-on approach to making a difference in Connecticut.

United Way and the Leadership Council will focus on the power of the purse in more ways than one, as the event will fundraise while offering silent auction items from brands such as Dooney & Bourke, Vera Bradley, Michael Kors, Coach, and Brighton among others.

The auction will feature over 150 items and guest speaker Farnoosh Torabi, author of ‘You’re So Money – Live Rich Even When You’re Not’, who will educates readers about financial independence. Torabi also just released her latest finance-centric book.

The event will start at 11:00 am on June 3 with registration and silent auction, followed by the program and luncheon at 12:00 pm. Tickets cost $100 per-person or $1k for a table of 10 people.

To foster continued growth and support from local community members, this Enfield event might well be reaching out to supporters across CT. Using poster printing and flyer printing services would be a great opportunity for the Council and organization to connect with future supporters and enthusiasts.
