Summer’s gone but Somers is only getting started

The upcoming 4th annual Somers Health Fair, taking place at Somers High School, will be free to attend and everyone will receive a free goodie bag. The fair is a presentation of the Somers Health and Wellness Association.

The fair will feature over 30 exhibitors who each pay $40 to participate and organizers are still looking for more to take part in this year’s fair. Exhibitors will include alternative health care providers, financial advisors, fitness organizations, and pharmacies. There will also be door prizes, health screenings, flu shots for those aged 18 and over, a Red Cross blood drive, and various seminars on such topics as nutrition. This event should draw people from all over the area, including nearby Enfield.

Those exhibitors taking part will no doubt be working with local printing companies to prepare for the health fair. Those exhibitors, especially those representing non-profit and health-related service organizations, will no doubt want to provide literature for people to take home with them. Bag sponsors may also have a need for literature and for some promotional items that a local printing company can provide, such as stationery printing.

Sponsorships are also available from $50 – $500. Companies can become bag sponsors for $50, which allows them to place a sample or promotional literature in the goodie bag. Each sponsor is expected to provide enough for 250 people and is also invited to donate items for door prizes.

Taking place on October 6 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, the fair should provide guests with enough information to make an informed choice about their personal wellbeing. For more information, call 860-698-9750.
