Do some outdoor networking this June

The 42nd annual North Central Connecticut Chamber of Commerce golf tournament will be held at Crestview Country Club this Monday, June 25 beginning at 11:00 am. Fees are $125 per player or $30 for dinner only and each player will receive a gift bag containing items donated by local businesses.

Tournament fees include 18 holes of golf, a golf cart, a barbecue lunch, a buffet dinner, prizes, and drawings. Golf foursomes will be decided by scramble format. Following golf, there will be a reception from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm with hot and cold appetizers and drinks, followed by the dinner, during which prizes will be awarded.

Sponsorships are available from $125 to $2,500. Companies in the area including Enfield are invited to donate items to be given away as prize or to be placed in the gift bag given to all players. Printing companies can help to provide promotional items such as pens, notepads, fridge magnets, business cards, and posters.

The golf tournament will be an excellent chance for chamber members to get together in a fun social way. Networking will be done but there will be no hard sell. The objective will be to have fun. However, there will still be the chance to exchange businesses cards at lunch, during the reception, and at dinner.

June and July are the time for golf tournaments. It seems as though almost every chamber of commerce holds one during the summer months. They are a great way to get some exercise, have some fun, and meet business peers in a relaxed social setting.
