Southbury to hold Fall Fine Arts Festival
August 4, 2013 by James
Danbury residents will have the chance to enjoy a day of creative fun when the Fall Fine Arts Festival comes to nearby Southbury next month.
The annual event is put on by the Southbury Women’s Club, with all proceeds going to local agencies and services that help those in the area who are in need. Visitors will be able to shop as well as view the handicrafts and fine art.
The festival will include handmade items, textiles, woodworking and pottery demonstrations, wearable art, photographs, drawings, and paintings. There will then be an amateur photo contest, the winner of which will be determined by a public vote.
Local photographers Doug Hockman, Georga Sheron, and Kinberly Pettella will be featured, as will artists such as Lisa Jill Allison and Manjusha Rajadhyaksha. Shery Hesesls and her handcrafted jewelry will also be presented.
Live musical entertainment will be provided by Changes Urban Instrumental & Scratch. The event will also have workshops, face painting tables, a wellness booth, and food vendors.
Companies may like to sponsor the event, which will be advertised beforehand in the local media. There will also be year-round exposure on offer via the Southbury Women’s Club Facebook page and website. Event sponsors will have a table at the festival and may want to make the most of the services offered by local print firms, such as flyer printing and postcard printing.
The festival will be held on Saturday September 7, with gates open from 10:00am to 4:00pm, rain or shine. It will take place on Southbury Green, at 775 Main Street.
