Danbury Dogs on the run this month

April 8, 2013 by

For those who view their dog more as a partner in crime than as a pet, the Danbury Animal Welfare Society’s (DAWS) upcoming 5k is the perfect opportunity to spend time with beloved pooches

At the end of the month, runners and their dogs will gather to begin ‘Run Your Tail Off’ race, taking place at The Matrix Corporate Center in Danbury.

DAWS, a well-known organization in Danbury, will be selling adult tickets for $30 (plus an extra $5 for pups). Additionally, a one-mile run for kids, with entry tickets costing $15, will feature. All funds go to DAWS to help in its mission of providing medical care and finding homes for shelter animals. DAWS also offers a low-cost program for spaying and neutering animals to help control the population of feral cats. Those interested can purchase tickets on the DAWS website before the April 27 deadline.

Wags Doggie Daycamp serves as a sponsor of DAWS’ first 5k, and had the following to say:

“Not only will this be a fun filled day for both the two and four legged participants, it will also be a day where we will be saving lives by raising crucial funds for the Danbury Animal Welfare Society. You can truly make a difference by participating in our fundraiser.”

DAWS might want to consider using flyer printing and banner printing services to promote the April 28 event. It starts at 9:00 am on that day, and bibs can be picked up at 8:30am.
