On your marks for Watertown weekend run

October 30, 2013 by

The ‘Race for Every Kind of Cancer’ gets off and running this weekend an is a fundraiser sponsored by the Maranatha Baptist Academy in conjunction with the UW Cancer Center of Johnson Creek.

The event is designed to benefit two local causes, and no doubt it will have the printing companies in the area out in force to contribute informational material.

The race provides people with the opportunity to complete the MBA $5.000 5K Race and assist the beneficiaries. Half the proceeds will go to the U.W. Cancer Center and the other half will be donated to the Maranatha Baptist Academy’s Class of 2015 to fund the senior trip, as well as other planned activities and events at the school.

Registration for the 5K takes place between 7:30 am and 8:30 am on the day, and both a walk and run are planned. An awards ceremony will take place around 10:00 am, after the physical excursions have been completed. Participants are reminded to ensure they have good walking or running shoes and to bring sweaters or jackets.

Registration for this event is online and costs $25 per person. The race will be happening on Saturday, November 2 beginning at 9:00 am at the Maranatha Baptist Bible College located at 745 W. Main Street in Watertown, Wisconsin. To learn more, or to register for the event, please visit the Watertown Chamber of Commerce website, or the MBBC Edu website, and download the PDF flyer.
