November 4, 2016 by

The Madison Marathon will be held in just over a week, but there is still time to register.

The event will be a 26.57-mile Marathon run and a 13.1 Half Marathon. Runners will receive long-sleeved tech shirts, finisher medals, and free race photos thanks to Madison Marathon.

RaceJoy will provide free runner tracking. Free beverages will be available at the finish line. The race will have pace groups. Panera Catering will be passing out sack lunches to finishers. Race participants can use social media alerts while they run.

The route will travel through the University of Wisconsin – Madison Arboretum. It will also scale Monroe Gradual Hill, which has an elevation of 55.7 ft. There will be a 14 minute-per-mile pace requirement because the route must be closed by 1:00 pm.

Spectators along the route may want to bring banners to cheer on their favorite runners. There will be text alerts and runner tracking available for family and friends.

The Packet Pick Up and Madison Marathon Expo will be at Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, 1 John Nolen Drive on November 11. The Expo and Packet Pick Up will run from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 11 and 11:00 am until 6:00 pm on November 12.

The marathon will be November 13 and will begin at 7:00 am. The start and finish line will be on Mifflin St. and Wisconsin Avenue on Capitol Square.
