Madison dives into science
March 20, 2017 by Lisa
The event will be a campus-wide science open house. The event will have three kinds of programs: the exploration stations, the science spectaculars, and the destinations for exploration.
Science researchers and outreachers will be conducting Exploration Stations, where they can share insights into their research through hands-on exhibits. Each presenter will need to get their digital business cards updated in order to share information with fellow researchers. These stations will be staffed and be located at two different places on two different dates.
The Science Spectaculars will be presentations at campus auditoriums. Shows will run throughout the two days. These presentations will be shows like Wonder of Physics or lectures such as Wednesday Nite @ the Lab.
Destinations for Exploration will be Open Houses and tours of campus venues. A total of 24 buildings all over campus will open their facilities and labs to the public. These will include greenhouses, research centers, museums, gardens, the planetarium, library, labs, and the arboretum.
The event is slated for April 1 and 2 from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, beginning at the Discovery Building 330 N. Orchard St., Madison. The Exploration Stations will be from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery Saturday on April 1, and the Health Sciences Learning Center on April 2.
