Madison children to celebrate this Halloween downtown
October 9, 2016 by Mark
Local children will not want to miss the upcoming Downtown Madison Family Halloween. Over 60 downtown locations will be handing out trick-or-treats.
The first place to visit should probably be DreamBank. The facility will be decked out in Halloween splendor and children will be invited to design their own candy bag.
The Madison Museum of Contemporary Art will have a one-act play entitled ‘Wonder Woman and Queen Clea’. Children can create their own superhuman, enjoy treats, and listen to Halloween stories.
Madison Central Library will have a spooky craft station, and Capitol Kids will have games and creepy crawly crafts. Three not-too-creepy magic and ventriloquist shows will be presented at the Overture Center for the Arts’ Rotunda stage. Photos of children in costume will also be available at the center. Parents may want to use these photos for future poster printing.
Children can help create a giant mummy and get treats at the Madison Children’s Museum. Madison Parks will be giving hayrides around the square.
The Wisconsin Historical Museum will be going all out with a haunted cabin, ghost tour, a hodag (a frightening animal from Wisconsin folklore), and a mask-making craft. Mini pumpkin bedazzling will be carried out at Revel after kids pick out their own free pumpkins.
The event is scheduled for October 26 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm downtown at State Street and Capitol Square here in Madison.
