Janesville runners ready to jingle

November 5, 2013 by

On its way this weekend, the Jingle Bell Run is one way to support a good cause and enjoy some fresh air in the great outdoors.

This 5K walk/run race is being hosted by the Arthritis Foundation. Banner printing and flyer printing were probably among the services used to people in this community, and those who live in surrounding communities, know about the event.

This event is one of the nation’s biggest holiday races and all proceeds will go towards the fight against arthritis, which is one of the leading causes of disability. All participants will be asked to wear a themed holiday costume, as well as tie some jingle bells to their shoelaces.

The race is set up to celebrate the season of giving. To participate, all participants need to do is to form a team, raise some funds, and get festive. After the race, there will be a celebration featuring refreshments and awards. The top male and female finishers will be recognized, and there also be awards for the top runner who has dogs, the eldest walker, and the youngest walker. Funds raised from this race will be used to create awareness and fund research and educational programs.

The cost ranges between $25 and $35. The Jingle Bell Run will be occurring on Saturday, November 9, beginning at 8:00 am at the Janesville Athletic Club located at 1301 Black Bridge Road in Janesville, Wisconsin.
