Wisconsin bike riders to start pedaling

July 17, 2012 by

The Scenic Shore 150 Bike Tour will take place over the weekend of July 21 – 22, starting at 5555 W. Higland Road in Mequon, Wisconsin, which is just a short drive down the road from Greenfield. The event will begin at 7:00 am.

This exhilarating bike tour will take place over a two-day period, with the course being 150 miles long. Starting in Mequon, the ride finishes in the community of Sturgeon Bay and participating bicyclists will travel along the shoreline of Lake Michigan to the finish destination.

Along the route, there will be support services supplied by volunteers, including bicycle support, refreshments, rest stops, tasty meals, and a few other amenities. The tour is a fundraiser whose goal is to assist in finding cures and quality therapies for Hodgkin disease, lymphoma, myeloma, and leukemia. Some of the proceeds from the funds raised will go toward support for families and patients suffering from these diseases. A portion of the money raised will also be used for educational purposes and more than 75% of each dollar that is donated will go towards the L.L.S. mission. Riders are reminded to dress appropriately and to remember their sunscreen, which is always a vital item at this time of year.

Flyer printing and poster printing may have been used to advertise and promote this event to cyclists and the public. Refreshments will be available during each scheduled rest stop. Registration for this event is $85.00. For more information, please visit the Scenic Shore 150 website.
