June 21, 2013 by Mark
Greenfield Farmers Market opens this weekend and with give families the chance to get out and spend a day together while viewing a variety of local produce and artisans.
The market was established in Greenfield back in 1975 and has been serving the community for many years. Poster printing, banner printing, and other printing services may have been used to make the big opening known to families in this region.
Recently, the Greenfield Farmers Market expanded and now includes a number of food vendors, crafters, and the traditional vendors that supply the market with fresh produce, including a variety of vegetables such as kale, Swiss chard, potatoes, corn, peppers, and herbs, together with fresh fruits like apples, pears, plums, strawberries, and blueberries.
In this market, guests will also find a selection of perennial plants available for sale, as well as artwork by many local artisans. This market has more than 30 vendors that come out each time the market is open and a number of vendors who provide freshly baked goods. Meat is also an item that is popular at this market, including pork, beef, and lamb – not to mention the fresh eggs and cheese.
This is a free event and everyone is invited to join the vendors for the grand opening activities. It will get underway on Sunday, June 23, starting at 10:00 am at the Greenfield Farmers Market located between 51st Street and Layton Street. The market has its own website for those looking for more info.
