Girls to get on the run once again

November 11, 2013 by

The Greater Milwaukee 5K Girls on the Run is coming around for its second year. Starting off in Greenfield Park, the event will feature many unique activities and events. The run promoters have likely used poster printing and flyer printing to let the residents in Greenfield and the surrounding areas know about the race.

This year, almost 150 girls are expected to turn out on the day, as well as their families, coaches, and supportive running buddies. This year’s event is aiming to be particularly inspirational and energetic, as it supports a ‘Turkey Trot’ theme and is being used to celebrate and fund the programming of the event.

Each participant should be in attendance to register and pick up their event package between 7:30 am and 9:30 am. After packet pickup, an opening ceremony will take place at 9:30 am. A kids’ dash fun run, open to all children, will take place at 11:00 am and feature dancing, skipping, walking, and running. Baby strollers are allowed, but pets cannot be brought and music devices and headphones are not recommended. Parking is free and spectators are welcome.

The cost to participate in this event is $30 per person, and it will take place on Sunday, November 17, at 10am at Greenfield Park located at 2028 S. 124th Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, just a short drive from Greenfield.
