Million Dollar Quartet to make special appearance

August 4, 2012 by

On Saturday, August 11th, the Million Dollar Quartet will be making an appearance at Music by the Lake, The Ferro Pavillion, at George Williams College located at 350 Constance Blvd. in Williams Bay, Wisconsin, just outside Burlington, Wisconsin. This performance will run from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm.

This event has been specially adapted to fit the Music by the Lake series. The Million Dollar Quartet will be featuring and celebrating a combination of music by sensations Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins, and the king, Elvis Presley. Back in 1956, these four legends of music got together and jammed at the Sun Records Studio in Memphis, Tennessee, which was a life altering event that launched there long musical careers. Sam Phillips produced the Million Dollar Quartet after discovering this dynamic and unique group of performers.

Elvis Presley, Carl Lewis, and Sam Phillips were later inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and the music produced by this group transformed the cultural and musical landscape of the entire 20th century. This evening is not to be missed by those who loved the music of this era. The audience will enjoy a great show and find themselves singing and clapping along to the sounds.

Tickets for this event cost between $15 and $90 per person, depending on seating selected. Poster printing and flyer printing may have been used to advertise this event to the area. For more information, please visit the burlington Chamber website or Music by the Lake website.
