Burlington to dish out soupy fundraiser
March 12, 2013 by Mark
This time of year is a good period for warming the soul with soup, and the upcoming ‘Soup-er-Bowl’ is a fundraising event that could bowl every member of the family over with joy.
For anyone who loves to slurp on a nice big soup bowl, the Soup-er-Bowl will provide them with several tasty soups in an assortment of bread bowls that they can savor for lunch or eat during the afternoon. All the proceeds from this heartwarming event are going to Love, Inc., Echo Lake Employees, and the Food Pantry to assist the needy.
The soups on this day are being provided by the Charcoal Grill and Cookies, and guests can even get their soup to go is they do not have time to dime there and then. Soup is available through a good-will offering, plus local artists Deanna Christman and Wayne Herrick will have custom made bowls available for sale for a gift of $10 or more, while quantities last. Of course, the bowl will not be presented empty of soup if bought.
Admission to this event is free and all ages groups are welcome to attend. The Soup-er-Bowl will be happening on Saturday, March 23 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at the St. John the Devine Episcopal Church located at 216 E Chandler Avenue in Burlington, Wisconsin. To learn more about the day, please visit the Soup-er-Bowl listing on the church’s website or call 262-763-7482 during business hours, or look out for any promotional poster printing about the event.
