On Friday, March 16th the Village Booksmith located at 526 Oak St in Baraboo, WI will be presenting Musica Curiosa Salon. This event begins at 7:30 p m. This event is bound to be enjoyed by anyone who enjoys Ragtime music.

Internationally recognized musician Dennis James will be appearing at the Village Booksmith, as a well-know composer, accompanist, and silent film artisan. At this event, Dennis James will be pounding out good old fashion Ragtime music on the piano. Some of the music he will be playing includes George Gershwin and some of the music by Scott Joplin. This event will also feature some waltzes, as well as some Brazilian tangos, so everyone’s feet and hands will be tapping and clapping along.

This event is set to candlelight, so guests can settle in and get comfortable. Between the musical numbers, Dennis James will enlighten the audience with stories from his career and his life. Mr. James has a very colorful history, so all the stories he shares with the audience will be light and lively, just like Mr. James himself. This event is suitable for adults, so everyone can support the local art community, listening to his “Elite Syncopations” where donations will gladly be accepted to benefit the local art organizations.

The local print companies have no doubt prepared the flyer printing and poster printing, which can be seen in various places within the community. For additional information on this event, call the Village Booksmith at 608-355-1001. This event fills up quick, so arrive early to get a good seat.
