Enjoy outdoor art in Sioux Falls

The Downtown Sidewalk Arts Festival will take place around the Washington Pavilion on September 8 from 9:00 – 5:00 PM. This event has free admission; it is a major fundraiser for the Visual Arts Center of the Washington Pavilion.
There are expected to be about 225 vendors from 10 states at the festival. These vendors will be selling items such as art, jewelry, crafts and food; many will also be representing non-profit community organizations. In addition, there will be a food court, children’s activities and live entertainment throughout the day. This is also a juried arts festival for the artists taking part; ribbons and cash awards will be given to first, second and third place.
Artists can rent a 12×12 space for $225 while non-profit organizations can rent the space for $125. Most likely those non-profit organizations who are planning to exhibit at the festival will be working with Sioux Falls printing companies to prepare for the event. A well-placed and colorful banner will draw people to the table and an informative brochure will let people know exactly what the organization is about and how they can support it.
Outdoor art festivals are an excellent opportunity to discover a new artist or to be exposed to a new genre of art; they are also a good place to buy art for reasonable prices. Those who attend might also learn something about a the role of a local community organization that they weren’t aware of before.
