The 50th annual Sidewalk Arts Festival is taking place in Sioux Falls this September. The festival is a fund raiser for the Visual Arts Center. The expected attendance at this year’s event is 40,000.

Over 250 arts and crafts vendors from approximately ten states are expected to take part in the festival. They will be competing for awards for cash prizes. Some of the categories of arts and crafts that will be featured include ceramics, fiber, furniture, home decor, jewelry, toys and printmaking/graphics. In addition, guests can enjoy a food court, live entertainment and children’s activities such as chalk art and inflatables. Musical entertainment will be provided by such groups as Sound Cascade, Groove, Inc. and Mogen’s Heroes. There is sure to be something that will appeal to those attending the festival and the chance for them to pick up a unique piece of art.

Arts and crafts vendors can rent a 12×12 foot space for $225 plus a $25 application fee. No doubt many of them will be approaching Sioux Falls printing companies to help them prepare for the festival. This might include investing in banners to draw attention to their booths or postcards which feature a sample of their art work and their contact information.

The Sidewalk Arts Festival will take place at the Washington Pavilion in Downtown Sioux Falls on September 7 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Admission is free. To learn more information about the festival call 605-367-7397 x2348.
