West Chester residents invited to ‘Walk Through Christmas’
December 15, 2013 by Max
The Niederman Family Farm invites Butler County residents to take a Christmas Walk through its wooded area—a stroll through lighted life-size Christmas displays while festive music plays from the 50 speakers situated along the path, accentuating the holiday spirit throughout the evening. The lane itself is illuminated with tens of thousands of lights.
Along the way, hundreds of gaily decorated trees will delight the crowds, along with depictions of shepherds and angels, and the live animals residing at the farm will be very much a part of the display, added to what should be a great opportunity for picture taking for next year’s Christmas postcard printing. Free cookies and hot chocolate will warm up visitors at the end of their walk.
After the route has been completed, the barn will not only offer warmth but entertainment as well. Each evening, the Niedermans will host musical performances, with the schedule including local church groups, elementary and high school choirs, vocal ensembles, a strings concert, an orchestra, Ross High School Jazz band, Stormy Weather Jazz Quintet, and the Kevin Brown Bluegrass Group. These events begin at either 7:00 or 7:30 depending on the program.
The Christmas Walk will to run until December 30. Hours are Sunday through Thursday 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm, and Friday and Saturday 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Admission and parking are free but donations are welcome. The walking path is both stroller and wheelchair accessible.
The Niederman Family Farm is located at 4972 Lesourdsville – West Chester Drive, in Liberty Township
