West Chester music makers to get on their dancing shoes

Early next month, locals will have an opportunity to support the arts as West Chester Symphony Orchestra (WCSO) will present a night of fine dining, dancing, and music as part of its annual ‘Dance the Night Away’ show.

The proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping the Orchestra continue to offer free concerts throughout the community. Local printing companies are likely to have printed programs for the evening including the dinner menu, which will include cheeses, fresh fruit, crackers and dip.

Dinner will consist of a salad with poached pears, mixed-greens with walnuts, red peppers and blue cheese crumbles. Entrees include a choice of chicken breast, vegetarian stuffed bell peppers, or salmon.

Dessert will be white chocolate raspberry cake drizzled with raspberry sauce. Along with the dinner, guests can enjoy a Celebrity Dance competition and an auction.

Contestants who have graciously volunteered to enter the competition include representatives from such groups as Performance Benefit Solutions, Lakota Local School District, and the West Chester Police Department.

WCSO’s mission is to enrich, educate and expose West Chester residents and students of the Lakota School district to classical music while providing opportunities and venues for local and regional artists.

The event will be held on April 5 at 6:00 pm at Marriott North at Union Centre, 6189 Muhlhauser Rd, West Chester.
