Full steam ahead: train event on track for this month

November 7, 2013 by

It will not be long now until West Chester train enthusiasts of all ages can once again enjoy a Christmas train adventure at EnterTRAINment Junction. The park will be resplendent with rail-related nostalgia.

The Great Train Expo Center will be ablaze with its Main Street Holiday Trains exhibit. The Christmas Journey walkthrough begins with a 1950s era street scene with old-time downtown window displays—at the end of the block, the view becomes a winter scene.

Eventually, visitors will reach the ‘North Pole’, where there are reindeer stables and an elf workshop. Finally, the path will take everyone to meet Mrs. Claus and her famous husband Santa. Children can sit on his lap in his study and munch on cookies given to them by Mrs. Claus. Pictures taken early in the season and rushed to local printing services will no doubt for make great Christmas cards.

Visitors will also be able to see the world’s largest interactive, indoor train display at the junction. Other attractions include the Coney Island display (a 1,000 square-foot miniature model of the famous theme park) and Imagination Junction (an interactive area in which children can play with different types of toy trains and ride on a little train). The American Railroad Museum will also be open.

Christmas at EnterTRAINment Junction begins November 16 and runs through January 5 at 7379 Squire Ct. Due to the holidays, the junction will be open until 9:00 pm December 14 – 30 but will be closed on Christmas and Thanksgiving.
