Women 4 Women Ohio to host Cambodian New Year’s Party
February 4, 2013 by James
Women 4 Women Ohio (W4WO) will host a fundraising event, a Chinese Cambodian New Year’s Party, too see in this weekend. The event will be in downtown Kent, located approximately five miles to the east of Stow.
Matt and Jeff Guska, who are co-managers at the 157 Lounge, have once again offered their martini bar for this exciting event. The registration fee includes a variety of Asian appetizers and two drinks. The fundraiser is part of W4WO’s efforts to raise funds in support of scholarships for girls in Cambodia who would be unable to attend school without the funding. The scholarships cover high school and university-bound girls.
Fundraisers, charity events, drives, and other such activities often raise awareness about the event within the community with flyer printing, poster printing, and other means of advertisement. In some cases, brochure printers might also be utilized to provide individuals with pamphlets and other information pertaining to the particular cause.
Women 4 Women Ohio was inspired by a book titled ‘Half the Sky, Turning Oppression into Opportunity for Women Worldwide’, which was written by Sheryl WuDunn and Nicholas Kristoff. The organization is dedicated to the support and education of women and girls in underdeveloped countries throughout the world.
The Chinese Cambodian New Year’s Party will kick off at 5:30 pm this Friday, February 8, and continue until 8:00 pm. The 157 Lounge is located at 157 South Water Street. The event is open to the public and individuals may register by sending a check to the amount of $30 per individual to P.O. Box 1413, Kent, OH 44240. Checks should be made out to W4WO.
