Parma residents soon to enjoy trampoline park

SkyZone plans to open a trampoline park in Westlake, about 14 miles from Parma. According to an item dated June 16, 2013, SkyZone officials expect to have their Westlake location open by late July and want to see everyone enjoying themselves, bouncing on the trampolines.

SkyZone Indoor Trampoline Park, to give the location its full name, can be found at 31500 Viking Parkway, and is part of a franchise. The Westlake location is the first to open in Cleveland, with an East-side site to be opened soon.

The park is set up with a number of trampoline courts, which allow people to have fun bouncing around as well as jumping off the walls. In addition to the basic trampoline set-up there is the “SkySlam” court, which features two hoops for basketball devotees to practice their slam dunks. The facility also includes a dodgeball space, which SkyZone refers to as “3D Dodgeball”, and which includes bouncing in the traditional game. There’s also a “Foam Zone”, in which participants can jump from a trampoline to a foam square that acts as a landing platform.

The franchise also says that it provides an opportunity for people to get exceptional, if non-traditional exercise. Bridget Strickland, publicist for SkyZone, says one hour of the company’s aerobics, which it calls “SkyRobics”, can burn as many as 1,000 calories, though the exact number of calories burned will vary.

Entertainment parks often work with flyer printing experts to create a hand-out that explains all their activities, as well as listing a center’s safety regulations.
