More jobs coming to Lebanon area

Blue Buffalo, which makes all-natural food for pets, plans to open a new distribution center in Monroe, which is only nine miles from Lebanon, Ohio.

The new facility will add 50 jobs to the local economy, as well as adding additional space to Monroe’s warehouse district. Monroe has a number of warehouses and distribution centers because of its location on I-75 between Dayton and Cincinnati. Among the facilities in Monroe are a deployment center run by Home Depot, a fulfillment center for Hayneedle, Inc., and a second fulfillment center for e-commerce business for Kohl’s.

Blue Buffalo is based in Wilton, Connecticut, and has leased almost 400,000 square feet in the Monroe Logistics Center. The center comprises two buildings that sit on about 86 acres specifically designed to handle distribution. The first building, designated Building A, was built in 2008 and Building B, which will house Blue Buffalo, was completed back in December 2012. Both are now completely leased.

Companies located in the Logistics Center include Appvion Inc. and the above-mentioned Hayneedle. In addition, Ball Metal Beverage leased space in Building B in order to distribute aluminum cans to the MillerCoors brewery, which is located in St. Clair Township.

Since the new company represents an opportunity for jobseekers in the area, company officers could work with flyer printers to announce the job requirements and experience it is looking for. They could also include a history of the company, its products, and its philosophy regarding pet-keeping.
