Fairfield Humane Society gears up for fundraiser
March 11, 2014 by Max
Fairfield‘s Animal Friends Humane Society will hold a vital fundraising event in a few days. The annual Bark ‘n’ Purr Ball, which is slated to take place at Receptions in fairfield, helps raise monies for the society, which serves all of Butler County.
The ball is important to anyone who loves animals and wants to help the shelter, which houses anywhere from 200-300 dogs and cats at any particular time.
The shelter’s mission, in its own words, is to:
“…promote humane principles, protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and act as advocates for animals in our community.”
The Bark ‘n’ Purr Ball is scheduled for March 15, from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm, at Receptions. Tickets include dinner with wine, beer, or soft drinks included. Thunderbay Band will provide live music, and there will be silent and live auctions, as well as raffles featuring hundreds of items. Door prizes will also be awarded during the evening.
According to the shelter’s website, tickets are sold out, but the organizers are still accepting donations for raffle prizes.
Since this event is sold out, organizers could start thinking about next year, working with brochure printers to create a handout for attendees, describing the shelter’s mission. The goal would be to have party-goers pass the information to others and for awareness to spread.
