The official poster of the “Olympics of choral music” for 2012 was revealed on Tuesday, February 14 at the Duke Energy Convention Center during the annual meeting of the Cincinnati USA Convention and Visitors Bureau. The poster was designed by nationally recognized illustrator, C.F. Payne, who is a Cincinnati native, and printed by RPI Graphics, a Cincinnati printing company.

In the design of the poster, Payne captures the not only the international spirit of the games, but the spirit of Cincinnati as well. The poster features a group of international singers in front of the iconic Downtown Cincinnati skyline. The background includes structures such as Music Hall and Union Terminal. Placed in the center of the poster is the Roebling Suspension Bridge. Under the arch of the bridge is Fountain Square’s famous “Genius of Water.” The singers represent the multicultural environment that is created as all of the choirs come to Cincinnati to perform.

The World Choir Games are held every two years. The event is a signature of INTERKULTURE, a German-based organization that produces choral festivals internationally. This year’s festival will be held July 4-14 in Cincinnati.

Large events such as the World Choir Games provide a variety of opportunities for local print companies in the Cincinnati area. In addition to poster printing, Cincinnati printing companies are also often called upon for other printing services at events like this, such as flyer printing, brochure printing, and a variety of other services.
