Cincinnati set for a hearty party

Cincinnati is gearing up for a party, and everyone is welcome.

The ‘Best of Cincinnati’ party will take later this month at the Bertke Electric Building, located at 1645 Blue Rock Street, in Northside. The event features live music and other entertainment, plus food and drink for residents’ favorite vendors. In addition, there will be a number of prizes, including a “swag bag” to be given to the first 800 ticket buyers who enter the venue. Included in the goodies are special Golden Tickets suitable for treats like theater trips and passes to a music festival.

The event is the idea of CityBeat, a magazine focused on Cincinnati. The party celebrates the magazine’s 18th annual ‘Best of Cincinnati’ issue, which features the staff and readers’ picks for the best places to go and things to do in the city, as well as who they feel are the most intriguing people in town.

Entertainment will be handled by DJ Mowgli, who reigns in the category of ‘Best DJ’. Bands slated to appear include Archer’s Paradox and Young Heirlooms, with stilt-walkers The Amazing Giants and dance troupe Pones, Inc., also on the bill. The BowTie Cause will also take part, raising money to benefit worthy causes.

Event organizers could work with a banner printing company to create colorful, whimsical flags for posting throughout the venue, including hanging them from the ceiling on March 26, when the party takes place.
