Mesnac to open new facility in Akron

Mesnac Co. Ltd., a tire equipment manufacturer, is slated to open a technical and research center in Akron.
The Chinese company already has a major development center in Qingdao, China and another research center in Dubnica, Slovakia. The Akron location will give the company a presence in North America.
Mesnac provides a number of services dealing with tire manufacturing, from mixing raw materials to testing final products. The company has research centers in the U.K., the U.S., and in Beijing and Qingdao, China. It also has service and sales operations in Europe, India, China, North and South America, and the Asia-Pacific region. Mesnac felt it needed a location in the United States to link the three vehicle locations, in addition to becoming more attuned to the need of the markets in Latin and North America.
Although Mesnac looked at a number of other regions in North America, including Greenback, Tennessee, its president of this region P. David Jones said it finally settled on Akron because of the city’s history with the rubber industry.
The company is currently recruiting employees and plans to offer work to at least 35 new hires by 2016, though the number could increase if business grows at a faster rate than Mesnac expects.
Mesnac will probably need to provide new business cards for its employees, as well as new stationery to identify its location. It could work with a business card printing company on the former, and stationery printers for the letterhead.
