Two more seminars see the year out

The Chamber Academy of the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce is a great resource for local business professionals to learn the ins and outs of running a successful business, and it still has two more seminars to offer before the end of 2012.

Chamber Academy seminars take place once a month at the Greater Omaha Chamber of Commerce West office. Each seminar takes place from 8:00 am – 10:00 am and admission is $25 for chamber members and $35 for non-members.

The next Chamber Academy seminar will be entitled ‘Discover your inner orator: preparing effective business presentations’ and will take place on November 14. Those attending will find out the importance of coming up with a strong message and in delivering that message well. They will also learn about quality content, the vital elements of an effective presentation, delivery techniques, and the importance of having a concrete beginning and end to their talk. Ineffective speakers often find out people stop listening and this can hurt their business credibility.

The December Chamber Academy seminar will take place on December 5 and the topic will be ‘Your customer just filed bankruptcy: what do you do now?’ It will advise businesspeople what to do in the case they cannot collect bills.

The chamber’s members have years of experience behind them and can share their knowledge to help others avoid some of the problems they have run into in the past. These events are also great networking opportunities for Omaha business persons, so those attending will no doubt be arranging for business card printing in advance.
