Festival returns to Omaha area for a second year

Loessfest 2014 is slated to take place this May and June in Council Bluffs. This annual festival is presented by the Iowa West Foundation and the City of Council Bluffs.
A free event, it features live musical performances, a food truck festival, outdoor movie showings on a giant screen, and an interactive light display. This year’s free concert is presenting three major musical groups: Three Dog Night, The Guess Who, and Loverboy. The lighting display, which has been a permanent fixture to the park since last year’s festival, runs for an hour and a half and provides nighttime illumination.
All of the events taking place at the festival are free and will likely attract visitors from all over the area, including nearby Omaha. Organizers often invest in services such as poster and flyer printing from local print companies to make the community aware of upcoming events such as these.
The aim of this festival was originally to draw attention to the new park located at the waterfront, which has become a popular spot for citizens of Council Bluffs and Omaha. The annual event will no doubt attract even more visitors each year.
Loessfest is taking place from May 25 to June 8 at Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park. To find out more about all of the events, call 402-398-9448.
