Enfocus is to release PitStop Pro and PitStop Server 11 at drupa 2012. Useful for St Louis print companies doing PDF printing, including poster printing, digital business cards and more, the software improves the accuracy and flexibility of PDF preflighting and correction. PitStop Server also improves automation with the inclusion of metadata as part of the job processing workflow.
Enfocus Product Manager Leen Vanmaele comments that the company has made efforts to improve the accuracy of the preflight process, including taking more note of the requirements of individual jobs. In the past, creating individual preflight checks meant the creation of individual profiles for all the variables, which was time consuming. The new software addresses this by including user-fed or automatic values used to decide automatically which checks should be omitted or used. This allows standardized processes and improves PDF quality while improving speed and accuracy for customers.
The company stated:
“PitStop Pro 11 will give its customers the ability to use smart values to check and correct a PDF; while PitStop Server 11 users can enjoy a completely hands-off, new level of automation. In the latter case, PitStop Server preflight settings and values can be driven by job-specific information such as JDF or XML job tickets, often generated by a MIS or an Ad Booking system.”
Enfocus has also introduced other improvements. There is a more user-friendly, streamlined user interface and better text editing, including a find and replace function. Users who buy version 10 of the software from now on, will benefit from a free upgrade to version 11 when it is available in May.
