Creativity abounds at the Foundry Art Centre

May 7, 2013 by

The Foundry Art Centre and Saint Charles Riverfront Artshas just started hosting an ongoing art series known as ‘2nd Thursdays’, serving as a creative gathering for the community.

Residents from in and around St. Charles are invited to come and relax with painters, potters, jewelers, and an array of other artists. Since the gatherings began last month, more artists have been encouraged to get involved. With the help of brochure printers and other printing services, these artists are obtaining publicity while sharing their craft with all who are interested.

Gourmet food trucks will provide plenty to eat in the parking lot, with a wide array of meals to suit everyone’s tastes. Within the Foundry Art Center, attendees will find a full cart bar to provide drinks for everyone. The food trucks and bar keep their prices reasonable to allow everyone to participate in the festivities.

With eating and drinking taken care of, all attendees need to do is be creative. Live musicians will provide entertainment while the artists, encompassing several sides of the arts, teach others their craft. Dancers help build grace and confidence, writers aid in improving prose, painters teach techniques for making magic on canvas, and potters guide eager hands in creating masterpieces.

The entry to 2nd Thursdays is free and family-friendly, so aspiring artists of all ages are more than welcome to join. As the name implies, art fans can show up this Thursday, May 9, the second Thursday of the month, at 520 N. Main Center near Historic Main St. to get in on the action.
