First a play, “Once Upon a Mattress” was influenced by Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea”. It was then adapted for the stage and opened off-Broadway in May 1959 before moving to Broadway.
Participants will need to be organized and practiced for the following items:

• Be prepared to sing 16 to 32 bars of Broadway music
• Provide sheet music in preferred key for the participant and the accompanist
• Bring a copy of the participant’s theatre resume and a recent photograph
• Supply a list of times the participant will be unavailable between May 8 and July 29

Rehearsals will generally take place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Sunday afternoons.
