Local bistro set to be jazzed up

January 31, 2014 by

Tonight’s Jazz at the Bistro evening presents an all-star itinerary of musicians, including the Lincoln Center Orchestra. With an attractive lineup on show, poster and flyer printing might have been used to spread the word about some of the entertainers on the bill.

As part of the jazziness, guests will hear numbers performed by the Lincoln Center Orchestra, a group of renowned veteran JALC Orchestra musicians. It features Jahmal Nichols on bass, St. Louis Director of Education Phil Dunlap making a guest appearance on the piano, Kenny Rampton on trumpet, Walter Blanding on tenor sax, Jerome Jennings filling in on the drums, and Vincent Gardner on trombone.

Hoping to be one of the most resounding swinging shows of this season, it is being presented in partnership with Jazz at the Lincoln center and is sponsored by Ted Wheeler, an agent for American Family Insurance. This event caps off an exciting week with Walter Blanding working with schools and students as a portion of the St. Louis’ Artist Residency program.

Tickets for this event cost $33 per adult, or $15 for students with ID. The Jazz at the Bristro evening will be happening tonight, January 31, beginning at 7:30 pm and 9:30 pm at Jazz at the Bistro located at 3536 Washington Avenue in St. Louis, Missouri, a short drive from St. Ann. To find out more about this evening, or to purchase tickets, visit the Jazz St. Louis website or call their box office at 314-289-4030.
