Autumn begins with St. Ann Parade
September 11, 2012 by James
The start of autumn would not be complete without the upcoming annual St. Ann Parade, one of the community’s most anticipated attractions.
The parade will begin at Tiemeyer Park at 12:00 noon and travel north on Ashby Road, ending at St. Ann park. It will feature many of the favorite floats, bands, and performers from past years.
Beside the parade, there are all-day attractions at St. Ann park, beginning at 1:00 pm, including hay rides, pony rides, face painters, clowns, and a host of children’s activities. A stilt walker and juggler will perform from 1:00 to 2:00 pm, and babaloo music and fun will take place between 2:30 and 3:30 pm. Other attractions for the whole family include a variety of food and drink vendors, a wine and beer booth for adults, and an informative St. Ann history pavilion. Music is to be provided by Complete Music.
Advertising for this type of event could include attractive, colorful banner printing, informative flyer printing, and inviting posters that display images of the floats and other activities from previous years. The promotional material may also include the date, time, schedule of events, parking location, and any restrictions, such as those relating to animals or bringing alcohol to the site.
This year, the parade will be held on Sunday, September 23. The city is still looking for volunteers to help organize and run the event. Interested parties should contact the city by phone or email to indicate their preference.
