Olivette, Missouri is hosting the Olivette on the Go festival this weekend – a community-wide celebration of businesses and residents who make the town their home. Among the events will be live music, carnival rides, games, and food.
Also, for the first time, there will be an ‘Olivette’s Got Talent’ contest as part of the festival. The event is open to everyone, and will take place in two rounds. Participants who make it to the second round will perform live at the festival, with the awards to be given at the event.
Another event is scheduled to make its debut this year: the car show. The first 75 cars registered for it receives dash plaques. The cars are divided by decade, with registration in the brackets of pre-1950, each decade from the 1950s to the 1990s, and then 1990 to the present. There will be trophies presented to the winners in each group.
The festival is free, and takes place Friday through Sunday, September 27-29, at Stacy Park in Olivette. The hours are from 4:00 pm to 10:00 pm Friday; 12:00 noon to 10:00 pm Saturday, and 8:00 am to 10:00 pm Sunday. Although the festival is free, those who wish to enter the 5K and Fun Run will pay fees of $22 and $7 respectively.
Festival organizers could work with a flyer printing company to create handout with the festival schedule, particularly as there are two new events to advertise this year.
