The 27th annual Manchester Homecoming celebration is returning to manchester for three days this September.

The celebration will feature lots of family and pet-friendly activities. The Doggie Paddle Party will allow dogs and their owners to have fun together at the Manchester Aquatic Center. There will be a parade on September 7, the theme of which is “Wake up to Manchester”. Judges will be giving awards for originality, appearance, and relevance to theme. Also, on September 7 a custom car show will allow anyone to show off their car for $10, and awards such as Best of Show and Mayor’s Choice will be given out. The first 75 to register for the car show will receive a goody bag.

Other activities taking place over the three days are carnival rides and games, pony rides, musical entertainment, a raffle, and various contests. One contest will be the Cute Kid and Pet Contest – entries must be received by September 5 and all proceeds will go to Friends of Kids with Cancer. Children must be under the age of two.

There is bound to be something to appeal to every member of the family at the Manchester Homecoming celebration. Organizers have probably been working with local print companies to prepare for this popular annual event, particularly with items such as banners and signs.

The Manchester Homecoming will take place in Paul A. Schroeder Park from September 6 to 8. Admission is free. For more information, call 636-391-6326.
