Business showcase to serve as a learning experience
February 1, 2014 by Mark
The Columbia Chamber of Commerce is holding its annual business showcase this March. The event is presented by William Woods University.
The day will begin with a Chamber membership breakfast. After that the expo will open to the public. This event gives member businesses a chance to showcase their products and services. There will also be a short break to allow the Women’s Network luncheon to take place. Towards the end of the evening there is to be an exhibitor mixer which will likely involve much networking and the exchange of business cards.
In order to help some of the newer members, called Emerging Professionals in Columbia (EPIC), the Chamber offers the “business showcase mentor experience.” An established member will take them under their wing during the expo for half a day. Together they will attend either the breakfast or the luncheon and visit exhibitor’s tables. The senior member will also introduce the EPIC member to his business connections.
Many of the exhibitors will possible contact Columbia companies to provide them with services such as banner printing. A banner hung over a table may attract more people and result in much more attention.
The Business Showcase is taking place at the Holiday Inn Executive Center on March 4 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Admission is free. For more information contact Victoria Brees at 573-817-9113.
